"Not a hand-out but a hand-up"

Higher Ground ministries include a wide variety of services to those in and around our communities who are not satisfied with staying in the grip of poverty, addiction or brokenness. They recognize their need for God and others, and are willing to press upward toward wholeness in their spirit soul and body. We need to be willing to reach behind us and help lift those who are one step behind us on our journey to a HIGHER GROUND.

Every Tues., 11:30am – 1 pm and Sat., 11:30am – 1 pm at Grace Campus

The Northside Higher Ground Food Bank has recently moved to Grace Campus, 2606 Kingsway Avenue, Port Coquitlam, BC.  The Food BAnk is a warm and friendly place where people in our community (and sometimes surrounding areas) can receive groceries that can be picked up by a registered individual and for each registered member per family. Staffed by Higher Ground volunteers, the foodbank receives donations from generous corporate donors, outside community groups and various individuals both in our congregation and out in the community. Food donations are always needed and gratefully accepted during business hours 9:00 – 5:00 Monday to Friday and can be brought down to our Grace Campus located at 2606 Kingsway Avenue.  Volunteer opportunities are always available to suit your schedule. Fridays, 6-7 pm at Grace Campus

Father’s Table is a ministry that serves dinner every Friday night to the homeless and those in need of the Tri-cities. We are currently serving approximately 60 people each week out of the Grace Campus with a rotation of four teams (three from Northside and one from Calvary Baptist).

Comments from our guests are positive and the regular consistent service is a way we can demonstrate God’s love and our Christian servant hearts to those who are often struggling with life and faith.

We are here to serve with compassion and Christian caring. To listen and build relationships based on trust and God’s love for everyone.

We base our ministry from Isaiah 58:10 - “Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.”

The clothing coop giveaway is held 2 times a week at Grace Church 2606 Kingsway Port Coquitlam.  It was formerly held at Northside church every few months. Now you can look for clothes on Tues. 11:30am - 1:00pm and Sat. 11:30am - 1:00pm. Same time as the food Bank. You do not  need to register for the clothing. The clothing is for personal use only.
